well once again i'm coming to you guys with a musical problem, in a few days i'm gonna be on a 12 hour flight to see my family for the holidays. So i NEED songs that will help be combat the bordem of being stuck in a seat for 12 hours, i've already got a few but i dont think its enough
so yea i really need you guys to pull through for the sake of my sanity on that trip

okay, i like this song BUT COME ON. I get why it wasn't posted on here with the other two songs. I don't know if t&s CHOSE to play this (though i doubt it) but really, sara has SO MUCH other amazing songs. Yes, it was a hit for a reason, but the girl has skillzzzz beyond this song. haha.
I posted it though because of 1:45. Tegan KILLED it I think. I've downloaded SO MUCH random live performances of WWAG because, at some point, during a show, i heard her back up vocals and it was awesome but not distinct. I've loaded videos from live shows all the way from when the song first came out. I wanted a live version of it where I could hear her clearly. SLAM DUNK! FINALLY. I can now delete all the ones I've been keeping. haha. |

| Sondre Lerche & Regina - Hell No |

For her Oslo gig she teamed up with Sondre Lerche and performed their duet live for the first time! The video isn't very good, but they are both so lovely and their voices go together perfectly.
I have more pictures and videos from the concert if anyone are interested. :) Unfortunately she didn't have time to give autographs or take any pictures after the show, but I did get some ok shots of her and the band playing. |

| 2009 Indiemixtapes Secret Santa Mix Exchange - CLOSED |

Who's up for a mix Secret Santa this year? I think it would be a good way to meet new people and spread good music and goodwill throughout the nation. What I'm gonna do is, if I get seven or more of you guys to respond, match you all up and email you the addresses of your secret santa-ees and what theme you'll be following for the mix. Then, hopefully, you'll actually make the mix and mail it out. Before I tell you how to get in on it, some guidelines:
- All mixes must be in CD format. Not everyone has cassette players.
- No repeat artists!
- Tracklists must be included.
- Include a letter that tells your recipient a little bit about yourself and the theme of the mix, and why the songs you've chosen mean something to you regarding it. Also, include your LJ username, so they have some idea of who sent it.
- Only people living in the US can apply. Sorry to the rest of you, but international postage is a lot. However, if enough people living outside of this country want in and are willing to pay the extra buck, I'll make a separate bracket for 'em.
- Fill up the whole CD! No one likes wasted space.
- Mixes must be sent by December 19th, so they come in before Christmas.
- You can ask for help on here for songs for your theme, but you can't post the finished mix. However, if you really liked the one you received, you can post that.
- Try to follow the theme to the best of your ability. It's given to make things easier, not harder.
- Don't be a dick: actually LISTEN to what you received. It was made with love, damn it. Even if you don't like some of the stuff on the tracklist, go in with an open mind.
That seems like a lot, but it's really just common sense stuff. If you want in, reply with your email and I'll send you all of the details: your theme, the person you'll be mailing it to and their address. Like I said before, I need at least seven people to actually do this right, and I'm closing it off in three days. So, please, get in the holiday spirit, and participate. Who knows - you might meet a new friend, or at least find out about some good music.

Fucked Up released a cover of Band Aid's charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas" yesterday, featuring Yo La Tengo, GZA, Ezra Koenig, Bob Mould, Andrew W.K., Kyp Malone, David Cross, Kevin Drew, and Tegan & Sara. You can buy it on iTunes where all proceeds go towards Montreal's Justice for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Vancouver's DTES Power of Women Group, and Ottawa's Sisters in Spirit. (source)
